in the bag

This weekend I picked up a hot bag (when I was only supposed to be getting a cheap pair of flip flops) by LuLu. It's white faux patenleather with silver accents. Very cute. Almost as cute as this alligator clutch from the same designer. Get it at www.shopintuition.com

deliciously dark

I am obsessed with changing my polish every week (when financially sound, of course) and I must say I am so impressed with OPI. They have the largest variety of colors and their website is so easy to navigate www.opi.com. They have the cutest names like Chocolate Shake-speare, Dress to Empress and even Who Comes Up With These Names? They have several different lines, my favorite being Deliciously Dark. Monthly they have a Culture of Color collection which is Strawberry Margarita currently and they are coming out with an Australian inspired line. Love it.

sniff, sniff

I was searching for a perfume to call my own and this weekend I found it at Sephora (a beauty paradise): Délices de Cartier Eau Fruitée. This is a new variation on last year's Délices de Cartier perfume. It is described as a "sparkling fragrant pleasure for the woman with a playful unpredictability." The notes include bergamot, mandarin, an enhancement of rhubarb, morello cherry, jasmine, sandalwood and amber. Love.

A close runner-up was DKNY Be Delicious (the red and the green are great.) Also I happened upon this neat lip balm stack, also by DKNY. Granted, I didn't think I really needed it but it was definitely adorable.

I also did the usual shopping trip for some last minute items and I stopped at my usual spot, Lubi, a little boutique in Cumberland mall. Even though I didn't at all go in there for jeans I came across some hot offbeat ones from various underground designers like Street Dreams and Flying Monkey. They all run for around $55.

rubberband

Ever since I got my new pink rubber banded Anne Klein watch, I have really been into hot watches. I came across an even sportier and colorful brand called zodiac. The watches themselves are wearable underwater and can withstand extreme temperatures. For an added bonus, the straps are injected with vanilla for a subtle scent. I doubt I'll be doing any extreme sporting anytime soon but I could appreciate an adorable scented watch. Nice.

Also this past weekend I picked up Stila's Sheer Color tinted moisturizer. I adore this product because of the natural finish. Apparently that's what this line is known for. To boot, the line is eco-friendly as majority of its packaging is made of recycled material or biodegradable paperboard. Always a good thing.

off fifth

My friend turned me on to this accessories store in the Castleberry Hill area. I went to the grand opening a couple of months back. She has hot costume jewelry and some unique handbags (several designer labels.) I love love the setup of the boutique as it is the lower level of her loft. This area is definitely on my wish list of places to live and work.

Also, I discovered a Saks Off Fifth and a Neiman Marcus 'Last Call' at Discover Mills (on 85/Sugarloaf Pkwy.) I'm so excited that there is one down here. You can get all the high end designer goods you would normally get at Saks Fifth Avenue for a reduced price. This includes makeup (i.e. Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc.) Also in the mall are tons of other outlet stores for every major store you can imagine.

deezshirts

I don't know how I stumbled upon this but this is a hot line. All of the tees have tons of political sarcasm and there's something for everyone. Love. www.deezshirts.com

This past weekend I went along with the boy to grab a belt at Cumberland Mall and I happened upon this hot store, DTLR (Downtown Locker Room.) It's a one stop shop with urban designer clothing, sneakers, CD's and DVD's. The lines they carry include Rocawear, Akademics, Coogi and Enyce just to name a few. They had a lot of up-and-coming designers too. Wishing they had women's stuff.... www.dtlr.com
